He's here!!!

Our baby boy arrived at 9:15 am and weighed in at 8 lbs. 7 oz. and 20 inches long. We still cannot get over the size of him, especially considering #1- the size of his parents, and #2- the fact that he was born 3 weeks before Eliana was and still outweighed her!! Crazy!! Unfortunately because of the c/s, he has had some trouble with fluid on his lungs and is still being monitored in the nursery. Jon got to hold him for a bit in the OR and I got to see him some, but still haven't held him. We are hoping/praying we will get him soon! We will post some better pictures later, when we actually have him with us, but for now, these are just a few from the OR. Thanks so much for your prayers!! I am feeling really well... just anxious to hold my baby boy!:)

Here's the scoop...

As of today my c/s is schedule for 8:30 tomorrow morning. I guess that is if I don't get bumped by any ladies that are already in labor and may need a c/s. So we will be heading to the hospital a little after 6 tomorrow morning and then just counting down the time until we first lay eyes on our little Matthew Kai. We would definitely appreciate your prayers for baby, Mommy, Dr., etc... It is a little more scary this time knowing what to expect from a c/s. We will try to post pics and the news as soon as we can.

The finished rooms!!

Hooray!! The rooms are done and the decorations hung, with the exception of Kai's surfboard, which will arrive with Grandma and Grandpa Ohio on Wednesday of this next week. I am so thrilled with how Eliana's room turned out, after all that worrying.:) Her favorite part is her reading corner by far! I think it would be mine too.:) As you can see from the pictures, Maka also enjoys the reading canopy. I was also thrilled with how the name signs turned out for each child. They were so much fun to do!! A week from tonight we will be making final preparations to head to the hospital in the morning to finally meet Matthew Kai! Very exciting times!!

9 1/2 Days...

Unless he decides to come sooner on his own, that is when we are looking to meet our little man. We are very excited and just trying to go about our every day things so that we don't go stir crazy.:) We are also trying to soak up all of the time that we have as a family of 3 before we become a family of 4. Both of the kids rooms are almost finished. I have just a few more decorations that I am either working on or waiting on, and then they will be complete. I will post pictures soon. Eliana's room actually looks quite cozy, despite its size and she loves it, especially her new reading area. (Thanks to the latest Family Fun magazine for an awesome idea!!) I am still feeling pretty well... I feel HUGE of course, but compared to how I was with Eliana, I feel AMAZING! I am still managing to sleep alright at night, which is a huge blessing because I am not much of a napper during the day. I have a wonderful husband taking care of me, a bubbly energetic 3 1/2 year old entertaining me, and Lakers Finals basketball to watch... what more can a girl ask for?!:) I will post some pics soon.:)

The past few weeks...

I know that I have been a complete slacker about updating my blog these past few weeks. I have been having issues with getting pictures to upload onto the computer so that I could have something interesting to blog about.:) We have kept busy these past few weeks. We moved Eliana into her big girl room, which by the way, went very well. She pretty much wanted to be in there right away and has loved it ever since. Thanks for your prayers and advice! We have some more decorating to do in there, as well as in the nursery, and then I hope to post pics of both kids rooms. We have been busy cheering on the Lakers in the NBA Playoffs. A lot of people don't believe me when I tell them just how much weight I put on with Eliana, so we decided to put on the same Lakers jerseys from that pregnancy and do a little comparison. The photos will prove it! Yikes! I cannot believe I let myself get THAT big! Jon and Eliana spoiled me the weekend after Mother's Day... his last week of class and numerous projects were due the week of Mother's Day, so I told him to just get that done and we would celebrate when things weren't so stressful for him. He and Eliana made a frittata with spinach, sausage, and mushrooms! That was his first one and it was DELICIOUS!! He also made yogurt parfaits to go along with it, and then we had YUMMY BBQ ribs for dinner. I had a whole day of no cooking! WooHoo!! Lastly, our big news is that we joined the minivan driving club! This past Saturday we got our new Honda Odyssey and are just loving it! Pretty soon we will be trying it out with 2 kids... just 2 weeks and 4 days until my c/s! We CANNOT WAIT to meet our baby boy!!
