A Hawaiian Baby Shower...

This past Sunday the girls at church threw me a Hawaiian themed baby shower. I had told them that we were doing Kai's nursery in the same "Aloha Baby" bedding that we had used for Eliana, and they just took that and ran with it. It was so fun to see how creative they were! I would have to say that my favorite part was as I started to open gifts, they turned on a cd of Hawaiian music. Oh my! I could literally just close my eyes and be back there! Hearing softly playing Hawaiian music always makes me think of landing in Hawaii and getting off the plane to that welcome sound. Then stepping outside and feeling the breeze and smelling that sweet tropical air. For those of you who know, are you there with me now?!:) I was so touched by the amount of time and love that went into planning that shower for me. For a girl that is desperately missing "home" it sure made my heart smile, not to mention all of the fun stuff that we got for Kai.:)

Happy Easter

The imagination of a 3 year old...

Here are a couple of pictures of Eliana "at play." The first pictures are how I found her little peoples posed one day. I asked her what they were doing and she happily exclaimed that they were dancing. Notice that they even have an audience watching them.:) Dancing around in her princess dresses is one of her favorite things to do, especially if she can dance with Daddy to Steven Curtis Chapman's Cinderella song. The last one is how I found her one morning in her bed. She had stuffed one of her small baby dolls down her pj's and told me she had a baby in her belly. She had to keep the baby in there for quite a while, but finally told me that the baby was falling out, so she needed to change.:) Hope she doesn't think that Kai will just fall out.:)

A nice visit...

We had the pleasure of having my Dad and brother here for a few days this past week and weekend. We hadn't seen them in 2 years, so it was really nice to catch up and for Eliana to get a chance to know her Grandpa Greg and Uncle Jonathan better. She took a little while to warm up, but was soon challenging her Uncle to games of hide and seek in the house.:) Thanks Dad and J for making the super long drive just to see us!! We love you!!
